Make a new edge between them (F)

Mesh > Snap > Snap Cursor to Selected
Delete this edge
Select the loop that you originally wanted to straighten
Set the Pivot Point and Transform Orientation to Cursor
Scale (S), pick your desired axis (X, Y or Z), then press 0 to flatten it.
Select the two endpoints of your edge loop
Make a new edge between them (F)
Select this edge
Mesh > Snap > Snap Cursor to Selected
Delete this edge
Select the loop that you originally wanted to straighten
